Cookies & storage

Updated 6 September 2026

My Home Desk uses cookies and browser storage to operate the household application. This page describes the application features that store information on your device.

Sign-in and security cookies

Session and security cookies keep you signed in and help protect form submissions. If you select Remember me, a cookie can support sign-in across visits. Blocking these cookies may prevent the application from working properly.

Preferences and unfinished forms

Browser storage can remember appearance preferences. Some equipment and service-provider forms temporarily preserve entries while you visit a related category page so that you can return without re-entering them. These drafts use browser session storage.

Document preview cache

Document thumbnails can be kept in browser session storage and reused for up to eight hours to reduce repeated preview processing. The application checks document access before displaying a cached thumbnail. Normal sign-out clears this thumbnail cache.

Shared devices and clearing storage

Use your own browser profile where possible. Sign out when finished and avoid Remember me on shared devices. Browser session restoration can preserve tab data; closing a tab alone should not be treated as secure erasure.

You can clear cookies and site data using your browser settings. This may sign you out and remove preferences, previews and unfinished drafts. Clearing browser storage does not delete server records or copies of files you downloaded or printed.

For information about server records and privacy requests, read our Privacy Policy or contact support@myhomedesk.ca.

Optional public-page analytics

Google Analytics runs only after you choose Allow analytics in the Analytics preferences control at the bottom of a public page. This is separate from functional preferences. It measures public-page visits using fixed page names; signed-in pages, query strings, fragments, search text and form contents are excluded. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled. Google may use analytics cookies and device/network information to produce aggregate reports. Choose No analytics at any time to stop collection and clear the site analytics cookies. Visits with URL parameters are not measured.
